My Two Percent

Super crappy day at work.  I’m so glad I’m home.  You know how your day can start immediately just entirely not in your favor and it seems like a bazillion little things keep going wrong, which seem to all add up to a giant bag of suck by the end of the day?  That was my day.  Blech!

I DID have snail pizza before my Louisville trip a few weeks ago (see pic on previous post).  Complete with bacon and onions and lots of bleu cheese and of course, snails.  It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.  The snails, although I admit I was a bit hesitant initially, were sauteed in garlic and onions and bacon and wine and they just tasted delicious with the contrast of the bleu cheese.  Yum!

Last night I bought new pillows.  I was out running errands and while overhearing someone in a department store say they were shopping for new pillows. I thought, well, that sounds like a terrific idea.  I’ve actually been in the market for new pillows for awhile now, so I went ahead and did it.  And they are TERRIFIC!   My head and neck felt phenomenal this morning and needless to say I did not want to get up this morning for a 7:00 meeting!  Tonight on my way home I went to Target to get those hypo-allergenic pillow covers that are supposed to protect a pillow from allergens, dust mites (or bed mites or whatever they are called - gross!) and moisture.  I guess I’ve been watching Oprah and Dr. Oz too much, have you seen how nasty those bed mite things are?  Someone recently told me that a mattress’s weight doubles over it’s lifetime due to bed mites and dead skin.  I don’t know if this is true, but it’s enough to freak me out and start with getting pillow covers!

Just finished paying my bills, already in my pj’s, and I think it’s time to sit on the couch, pop in a movie (Sunshine Cleaning) and forget that today ever happened.
