Poor Lindsay

Lindsay, my coworker, workout buddy, and dear friend, is one of the few people I have met in my life who likes food as much as I do.  Yesterday at work, a few of us went to Heidi’s Brooklyn deli to grab some sandwiches and have a picnic outside.  Lindsay LOVES their caprese sandwich….and I mean LOVES it.  She talks about it quite frequently.  So when we got to Heidi’s and they told her they were out of fresh mozzarella I thought her head was going to explode.  So she settled on some other sandwich that was doomed from the start.  Once you get your mind set on something nothing else stands a chance.  Also, she had to get a Pepsi to drink, they were out of EVERYTHING diet, and this certainly did not help matters.  Needless to say the sandwich was a big disaster and it really left a bad taste in her mouth. (No pun intended).  That’s ok we thought, we already had plans to go out to dinner at the Canal Bistro in Broad Ripple to celebrate being finished with work until August.  Fast forward to dinner, and Lindsay ordered a gyro.  She also ordered a glass of sangria.  We were enjoying some people-watching and suddenly Linds realized she forgot to ask for no tzatziki sauce.  Sure enough  our server turned the corner just then with our food, including the gyro with plenty of sauce.  Oh well, Lindsay isn’t really a complainer so she ate it.  When our bills arrived, however, she was none too happy to realize that the sangria was $8.50 a glass.  $17 for 2 glasses of sangria was about enough to send her over the edge especially after the Heidi’s Brooklyn deli fiasco.  So we decided the day of eating was a bust for Lindsay.  She decided she would give up for the day and just go home and go to bed.  I think I’ll call her soon and see how her meals are going today.

In other news I won my first tennis league match on Thursday!  Yipee!
