Shoot. I was doing so well for awhile really writing new posts all the time. And then I got out of the routine. I am such a creature of habit that any break from the “norm” practically throws me into a tailspin. For instance, last weekend Kevin and I went to Chicago for the weekend. I still have not caught up from missing a weekend at home to do my “usual routine.” I haven’t felt right all week. Chicago was good. We had some delicious stone crab which I had never had before. It was served ice cold with some mustard sauce, which normally I would hate but it had a lot of horseradish in it and paired with the ice cold giant stone crab claws….delicious. I also did a ton of walking downtown, and nearly froze to death. It was much colder than expected, and we really only brought light jackets. It was so funny because everyone walking around had major heavy winter coats on, gloves, scarves, hats, the works. And the day before it was 72 degrees. So weird. But we had a nice time, and although I spent a lot of time walking around shopping I only bought one little thing - a hat - because my ears were so darn cold.
Oh yeah…I almost forgot, Kevin and I went to the Gymnastics Superstar show at Conseco Tuesday night. It was one of my birthday presents from Kevin. The gymnastics was good, it is very exciting to see that caliber of gymnastics right in front of your face. I was absolutely glued to the TV during the Olympics so I felt like I know who most of the athletes were as well as their stories, which made it extra fun. My only complaint is that Disney has gotten a hold of this gymnastics phenomenon and has decided to turn it into the next big overproduced Disney show. At times it felt more like a huge Disney production with some gymnastics as a second thought in the background. (When did Disney start taking over the entire universe by the way???) So after being thoroughly annoyed at the constant performances by some itty-bitty-up-and-coming pop princess in-the making, we actually got to be entertained by some of the top gymnasts in the world. Shannon Miller performed which was fun because I was a big fan of hers back in the day. And the whole men’s team was there as well as both Morgan and Paul Hamm.
This is the men’s team…..
You can really see how close we were here…
More high bar…
And although this is a terrible photo…how often do we get to be 20 ft. from a live performance from the #1 gymanst in the world Nastia Liukin?

That’s awesome. I still remember how cool the gymnastic championship thing was that we went to when we were younger.
