Hug your pet today

I just watched the news and heard about something so heart wrenching I almost cannot speak of it.  There was a fire at a pet store in Bloomington last night, and many of the pets did not make it.  Some of them did and are going to be cared for by a vet and then adopted.  I sat with tears in my eyes as I heard the pet store owner cry as talk about the horrible tragedy.  Pets are such a wonderful thing in my life, I have the two most loving and wonderful cats in the world.  They are snuggly and cuddly and living in a childless home has practically humanized them.  I don’t know what I would do without them.  Take some extra time today to snuggle with your cat or walk your dog a little longer.  My cat Ouzo is a little extra snuggly right now because the door shut on our spare bedroom due to the window being open and he was stuck by himself in a room all day.  (Sorry Ouzo).  A friend of mine recently wrote a post about remembering to cherish every moment of her children and I would like to remind us all to do the same with our pets as well.  I will pray for the pet store owner while she mourns this tragedy, and I hope that the survivors will find wonderful homes to be adopted into.

  1. O my god, that is so sad. Thanks for reminding us to love our furry ankle biters too…seriously, my cat Castor, the one with freckles, he bites ankles!
